Forest School

Exploring and experiencing the natural world through practical activities.

Welcome to Forest School

Forest school sessions give the children the opportunity to be outside, in a small group, and experience fun and interesting activities. A Forest School is an area of woodland which acts as an outdoor classroom, where children can explore, investigate and discover the natural environment. We use Claygate recreation ground. Forest School provides an excellent opportunity to bring learning to life, allowing the children to explore and learn in a constructive way. Forest Schools build on a child’s innate motivation and positive attitude to learning, offering them the opportunities to take risks, make choices and initiate learning for themselves.

Forest School will be back in the Spring term! Gerry is now fully qualified and very excited to take the children out. We have split the children into two groups, so 12 will go out the first five weeks of the Spring Term and 12 in the second five weeks of the Spring term. We have done this on a first come first serve basis (and initially for those going to school in September 2017).
